COVID-19 UPDATE and How to Order Online

Like many of you, COVID-19 is impacting our normal way of life. As we strongly encourage EVERYONE in our community to take preventative measures and guidance seriously, and practice social distancing in all that you do, we remain ready to help each of you stay active during this difficult time...just in virtual ways!

Beginning March 25th, we will close down the store in Blacksburg physically until further notice. We will, however, open the store "virtually" for pickup or home delivery options. We will only have one staff person working for the month and he will not have contact with our customers. This keeps everyone safe and also flattens the curve. From 11am to 1pm Monday through Friday, you can pick up your purchase outside the door or we can deliver to you free of charge.

HOW IT WORKS: Fill out this form anytime or call the store between 11am and 1pm Monday through Friday. If we have the item in stock or if there are multiple options, we will take a picture and send it to your phone to make sure you like it. Once your order is ready, we will let you know. Just call us when you are on your way or when you get to the store and one of our managers, Willy, will bring out your order and place it outside the door for pickup. If you have any issues, call us back. I do not want any contact between Willy and customers for everyone's protection. Flatten the curve! Please just call on the phone and we will deal with any issues happily, but through technology.

We would like to THANK all of our doctors, nurses, and other medical professionals, our grocery store workers and gas station employees, and our police and firefighters for all they do for our community. Please take care of one another, especially our elderly, and let’s do our best to give our hospitals a chance to treat everyone rather than be overwhelmed. These next few weeks are critical and will determine how many lives we can save by following the CDC's recommendations.

Our virtual race series is also ongoing! Stay apart at least six feet apart, keep from touching things, and stay away from groups. Remember that pole you lean against to stretch your calf -- it can have COVID-19 germs on it for days. Be Safe!

Thank you all for your support, it means more than you will ever know.

*** Join us for the 2020 VIRTUAL Race Series ***

We will be putting on five virtual races to help give people something to look forward to and keep up their fitness. The cost is FREE! There will be no packet pickup or awards. A Virtual Race Series shirt will be available for order ($10) if you would like one. The shirt will be available after the race series is over and presented at the summer awards ceremony.

Exercising is always important, but especially now. If you are running with someone, PLEASE keep six feet apart. Don’t be in groups. No group pictures. You are doing this for our elderly, for that person undergoing chemo, or who has MS. You are doing it for that person who has a heart attack and will have medical resources because beds, doctors, and equipment are available. You are doing this for your community, and for your country.
x
HOW IT WORKS: You will have 7 days from the date of the race to run the stated distance. You choose the route, and treadmills count as well. We will not be marking routes. Be careful when crossing roads. After you complete your “race,” you will submit your name, age on the day you ran, and your time HERE. "Races" are as follows:
x
March 28th Get Out & Run 3-Miler (1/2 mile or 2 laps on a track for 14 and under).
Results need to be reported by April 3rd.
x
April 11th Bunny Hop Hop 4-Miler (3/4 mile or 3 laps on a track for 14 and under).

x

x
AWARDS CEREMONY – We will give medals to the winner of each age group and a shirt to the top five overall. The Awards Ceremony will be sometime in the summer.
AGE GROUP Categories are broken into male and female categories. 16 age group categories exist for males and females each (32 total): 7 and under, 8-9, 10-11, 12-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, and 70+.
x
Your points will be based off of your age at each race. If you are 39 years old and earned 12 points at the Bunny Hop Hop 4 Miler, and then turned 40 before the Arbor Day 3 Miler, your points will travel with you to your new age group, 40-44.
x
AGE GROUP POINTS are earned by finishing in the top three in your respective age category: 5 points are earned for 1st in an age group, 3 points are earned for 2nd in an age group, and 1 point is earned for 3rd in an age group.
x
OVERALL PLACE POINTS are earned by finishing in the top ten in a race, regardless of age category: 10 points for 1st place, 9 points for 2nd place, 8 for 3rd place, 7 for 4th place, etc. down to 1 point for 10th place. Overall place points are added to age group points.
